New Years Resolution of 2013

This is the first year that I'm going to create a blog post about my New Years Resolution.

  • My main goal for this year is to create at least one truly innovative mobile application.
  • Also for this year would be to develop at least two half-innovative apps.
  • This year will be the one where I do more hand stands and possibly a vertical push-up!

LTE Discovery was my main innovative app of 2012. If you search Google for "LTE Discovery", then it should be the first link that pops up. After three weeks of being on Google Play, LTE Discovery is still a one-of-a-kind app. =]

UPDATE: Added hand stands as goal.

Random App Ideas

I randomly come up with app ideas and usually write them down in my notebook. Sometimes I feel like sharing my many different ideas with the world so that I am forced to come up with even better ideas.

  • Screen share mobile-to-mobile
  • Permanent Clipboard
  • StumbleUpon Mobile App version
  • Facebook without Facebook app -  basically pull Fb data to a Contacts app and include messages
  • Range [distance] Finder using camera, or sound, or shadows
  • App that creates real-world-value. Perhaps, something like a mobile version of Mechanical Turk or Bitcoin Generator et cetera.
  • How-to guides for specific topics
  • Connect game controllers to phones (wire, Bluetooth, built-in stand..)
  • Fire-starter, possibly need hardware like capacitor to help generate a spark
  • Taser app, extended from above. Or just use vibrate and fake sounds.
  • Log everything app
  • 3D Where's Waldo or 3D iSpy or 3D Highlights. Instead of just finding everything on screen you must orientate the phone different ways to pan around (or just allow touch scrolling)
  • Find Ghosts game app, extended from above. To be played in an open field. Can only see ghosts when looking through phone

I know of many types of app, but I haven't heard of these types yet. And I deleted just one idea that I decided to start working on right now. To be shown later. =b

Anybody may use these ideas for their personal apps. I would just like to hear if others are interested in these types of apps in the comments.

New Simply Advanced Logo!

You should take a look at the Simply Advanced website that I just finished updating. Sometimes I even surprise myself lol. The layout is really neat, fits all screen sizes (try changing the width of your browser) and the about page has an innovative style that I haven't seen anywhere else.

Third Choice Idea

I have just thought up with what I have now decided to call, a 'third-choice idea.' I think you understand what that means just from itself.

Usually people try to determine between two choices, this or that, right or wrong, yes or no. But, there is at least a third option, maybe. And this is a great time to mention fuzzy logic also, I'm glad I took that class at USF. And Isaac Asimov's The Relativity of Wrong while I am thinking of it.

I believe there is always another way to look at things happening around. Don't be satisfied with your current limited viewpoint.

Hmm, I guess compromise would be a synonym of third-choice. But, think of the word "compromise" as having a positive connotation.. at least you are getting part of something you wanted.

"Alternative" would be a better synonym, the way I'm thinking of a third choice ideas.. Perhaps even the word "innovative" would be my best choice for describing a third choice idea.

Now, when I start talking about third-choice ideas in my blog posts I'll have something to refer back to.
