My Notes on Albert Einstein Ideas (As Presented by This Documentary)

(In this post, I talk about different ideas I have about Albert Einstein's thoughts. These ideas either expand Einstein's thoughts or tries to poke holes in them. This comes from my not unlimited knowledge, in that, I am unsure if others have had the same ideas as myself. Some places I don't add my ideas, but just reiterate what the documentary said.)

Notes: This is in the early rough draft stages and is not really about the film. I could write at least 5-10 times at much for all the information I know and can think of for this particular topic of space-time. The main purpose for mentioning the film is because it is a great source of mostly unbiased knowledge and it doesn't try to push misinformation. I watched a NOVA video after this and it was full of misinformation, seemed like it was published just for naive public and to generate hype/views.

Infinity Universe

I can only conclude that the universe has always been. I'll provide the argument from two different perspectives in this post - from the science side and from the religion side.

Science:
The major contender is the Big Bang Theory. If that were the case, then eventually more scientists will start asking what caused the big bang? And, what came before that?
There will always be cyclic thinking that something always came before. Ergo, the universe has always been around in some form [as far as we know/believe].

Religion: (most theism should fit)
The universe is basically defined as everything/totality (sidenote: a universe of multiverse, paradox?). So, whenever there was a deity, there was also a universe. Most religions believe that their deity has always been. Thus, the universe has always been [as far as we know/believe].

I'd be happy to hear more academic dialog about this. Just let me know in the comments.

Brainstorming - The Bad Idea Theory

Imagine you are in a group trying to brainstorm. One of the worst things that could happen is nobody talking and each person thinking that another is going to come up with the great idea . There are a few ways to get around this:

First, the overall premise for creativity is divergent, then convergent thinking; First, one must expand their thinking, then follow up with narrowing down the many different ideas/tangents to something to act upon.

Method A - Use the Bad Idea Theory. Another person calls it the McDonald's Theory. Basically, when nobody has any ideas, one should suggest a really bad idea. After that, ideas will magically be thought of by others. Others in the brainstorming group will know that whatever they say can't possibly be any worse than what was first said.

Method 1 - Think individually, collectively. This method involves paper and pencil. Everybody starts off with a blank sheet of paper. The idea is for everybody in the group to write down at least three "random" things related to the topic at hand, then pass the paper to the left. Then, the next person should expand on whatever is written down on the paper. Continue passing all the papers around until all have written on it, then continue talking about each of the papers as a group. This method has the benefits of thinking solo and thinking as a group. Though, it may take a little longer, good ideas are worth it.

Method a - Round robin. Or whiteboard. Typical case, there should be a "leader" of the pack which specifically asks each person what they are thinking so that everybody contributes. Each person has had different experiences in their life. This is the most common because it is the easiest.

Minesweeper is NP-Complete!

I realize that the paper, "Minesweeper is NP-complete" by Richard Kaye, was first published in 2000, but the idea is new to me! I just found out about it yesterday when doing background research for a new app idea.

So, basically, Richard Kaye knew Minesweeper was hard, but wasn't quite sure how hard. He arranged mines on the board so that they would simulate logic circuits (AND, OR, NOT...). He then correlated the logic circuits to a previously-known NP-complete problem, SAT.

I found a version of Minesweeper online that allows players to write Java code in order to solve the game, but unfortunately, it doesn't appear to be working.

The reason I'm probably interested in this is because when I learned how to play this game many, many years ago (before I was programming), I started to write an algorithm for it. I thought, an algorithm is the perfect way to teach somebody how to do something -- it is all very logical. I shouldn't have to explain more.

ps - I'm very likely going to create apps that revolve around Minesweeper now. Actually, I was already considering it. That's how I found out about the NP-completeness.

ps - Perhaps, instead of saying I love conspiracy theories I should say that I like the ability to be able to entertain multiple theories/viewpoints at once. Or maybe I just like creativity.
